It can be really useful to have copies of all of your Wii games, especially if you live in a home with small children or pets. Wii games are often very expensive, so why not take the time to make copies of your Wii games? The process should only take a few minutes for each disc, and can insure you against the loss of forty, fifty, or even sixty+ dollars.
There is another method to copy Wii games–with a mod chip that either comes in the Wii or that you have to put in the Wii–but this method unfortunately would invalidate the warranty on your Wii. In many ways copying Wii games onto another disc is just a more affordable, easier, and safer solution for many people.
There are just a couple of things you need to get started. First, a blank disc. Second, a program that will do the copying for you; the standard stuff on your PC will not be able to handle this kind of copying. Be discriminating in choosing a program; you don’t want to pay a lot for some run of the mill software, but you also don’t want to buy something that sounds like a good deal but then doesn’t work properly. Research, research, research. The time you put into looking everything up will be well worth it in the long run. And third; you need the actual physical equipment to do the copying, the right kind of drive. You might already have this, if you have a high-end computer for instance, but double check before you try to begin.
And what you do from that point on will obviously depend on which software and hardware you are using. Remember, if you aren’t an expert don’t try to “wing it” or just guess at what you should do. Instructions are your friend, there to protect you and your valuable games and equipment.
